Explore highlights of Mandalay on motorcycle. We will cruise through lively markets and streets of Mandalay making stops at some historical sights; Mahamuni temple, Golden palace monastery and Kuthodaw pagoda. On the way to Sagaing Hills we stop by the famous teak bridge of Amarapura. Continue drive to Mingun where after some visits we load the bikes on boat and enjoy sunset drinks on the way back to Mandalay crossing the Irrawaddy River.

This morning we drive south to Kyaukse on old Mandalay Yangon highway and take a scenic country side road to Ywagan climbing over a mountain range. After lunch and dropping off gear at our base in Ywagan, we head off to explore a cave and waterfall by limestone mountains.

Simple breakfast and a visit to Genius Coffee roastery pioneers of decent coffee in Myanmar. After a cuppa we continue drive to Pindaya stopping by a blue pond on the way. Pindaya is known for its caves. A photo stop at the Pindaya Cave and lunch in town. We’ll take a scenic route to Heho riding on small road through region that is often said to be the “Tuscany” of Myanmar. We will arrive to days destination Nyaung Shwe by Inle Lake late afternoon or early evening.

Day off riding. Today we will explore Inle Lake by boat. Stop at local markets, visit villages built on stilts, boat makers house and artisan village producing silver items and traditional garments. Marvel at floating farms over the lake and fishermen balancing on one foot on small canoes. Please note that foreigners are not allowed to ride motorcycles in Nyaung Shwe town.

Leisurely drive along shores of the lake to archeological site of Inn Thein. We take a small rural road to Aung Ban from here through scenic landscape and join main road for the last 10km to Kalaw. Free time in Kalaw this afternoon. You can drive to a reservoir lake for a swim or explore the roads or hiking trails of this charming hill station town.

Long day and early start. Driving down from Shan highlands we’ll pass through a flat region and Thazi and Meikhtila towns. Late afternoon arrival to old volcano Mt Popa and its volcanic plug which has become one of the most important pilgrimage sites for “nat” spririts worshippers in Myanmar. Enjoy a magical sunset at Mt Popa.

Morning ride to Bagan. On the way we can stop at local villages and also see how toddy is harvested and made to palm sugar. After checking in to hotel in Bagan. Explore this world heritage site of thousands of temples by e-bike or mountain bikes.

We take old road with light traffic to Mandalay passing through Myinchan town. It usually takes around 4.5hrs so depending what time you start you might have some time for seeing or doing something in Mandalay. Farewell dinner this evening with the crew.
